The Florence Curtain Sconce is a twist on the original Curtain Sconce. Instead of ceramic, this version is composed of a patinated brass body and curtains made with silk sourced in Florence. Each peice is unique as the patina is applied with brush strokes creating depth and glow that resembles a renaissance painting. The colors of the sconce was inspired by renaissance paintings and the term Chiaroscuro, which &#38;nbsp;is a Renaissance and Baroque painting technique that uses dramatic contrasts of light and shadow. Mastered by artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Caravaggio, the technique was used to create depth and intensity.The Curtain Sconce is a composition of contrasts: a strong, sculptural ceramic top paired with a flowing pleated textile below. Ceramic beads glide along a track, opening and closing the curtain, functioning as an analogue dimmer.

Thrown on the wheel from a single mass of black porcelain, the upper form emerges with precision. Over the span of several days as the clay slowly transitions from wet to leather-hard, the bottom half is torn and chiseled revealing the grain of the Earth.&#38;nbsp;

	The Sculptural Spoon: Forms and Process


The sculptural spoon emerges from an exploration of clay’s intrinsic memory, an unintentional response to the material’s natural tendencies. Formed from a flat slab and draped over a hump mold, the clay billows organically, resisting full conformity to the mold. The process embraces the clay’s inherent movement, allowing the edges to lift and curve in a sculptural gesture. The result is an object that embodies both structure and spontaneity: where gravity, moisture, and material memory shape the final form.

	The Curtain Sconce


features a curtain as an analogue dimmer to adjust brightness and ambiance. The ceramic body is rough and raw like stone freckled with moss, its robust geometry balanced with the rhythmic billow of the canvas curtain. The ceramic balls are pulled along the track of the ceramic body to gather or unfurl the curtains.
